My Grandma and Mom would talk about the year when someone in pretty much every house on their street contracted Polio and how grateful and relived they were when the vaccine became available.

I spent summers growing up with my grandma in Canada on the Bay of Fundy. I spent my summers in college working in super air conditioned banks. I was completely unprepared for my first DC summer when I moved here after graduation. It is so humid it make me want to die.
