The device was all about Jimmy and Gretchen making it up on the spot, so those are the types of historical inaccuracies you might be expected to find in an improvised fantastical backstory.

I’m not going to give a laundry list of specific things that didn’t make sense about this movie, though there were plenty. My biggest complain was that it was just boring. I didn’t care about any of these characters or what they were doing.

Eh...it’s alright. I’ve only read the first one, and I’m sure I’ll get around to the rest, but like all big Sanderson novels it drags on and on and on during the middle third. He’s great at worldbuilding, terrible at pacing.
