For the young’ns here, the essence of that quote is attributed to the esteemed Peter Egan from a 1983 issue of Road & Track.

The plane was fresh off of an 18-year restoration and may never fly again.

Monaco, Valencia, and Detroit are not near an ocean.

Not sure how an F1 car would handle the G-forces of Daytona’s banked turns, even the limited amounts used on the infield roadcourse layout, but that would be damned neat.

They are going to race thru a stadium parking lot 10 miles from the shoreline?

Whatever happened to just calling someone an asshole? Or a piece of shit? Or dishonest? All these simple ways of describing things that are, in actuality, very simple indeed.

This, oh. my. god. so much this. I am sick of people saying that people are dangerous “gaslighters” when it’s really just a matter of the fact they didn’t see things the same way. I saw someone told they had dodged a bullet because a guy they went on a date with was a “dangerous gaslighter” because he said they had a

Yeah we need to keep up the pressure. There is no reason for this clown to be on the track with other drivers.

True older millennial here of 1982 vintage and I have to say that even though I love me some Testarossa and other exotics, the IROC-Z is the right choice for most 80's car.

Yes, I was born in the early 80's and my sister was 89'. We are very different and there is a distinctive line between those born 88-89 and after and those born earlier. There needs to be a separate generation between Gen X and late 80s.  Some big life changing technology shifts became widespread in the late 80s/early

I think it comes from years of people using the term “millennial” as shorthand for “those damn youngsters” without most stopping to think about the range of birth years associated with them. I heard someone recently refer to current college students as “millennials”, and that’s just flat-out wrong no matter how you

I was born in the early 80's. I feel like I have far more in common with people born in the 70's than people born in the 90's. I don’t consider myself a “millennial”.

I was going to call him out on the “older” part, too. Years defining the “Millennial” generation are inconsistent*, but by pretty much everyone’s definition, 1989 puts him somewhere in the middle.

It amazes me how badly people screw up that cohort. Being more or less the (arguable) last of Gen-X (1979), I remember when they were simply Gen Y. My wife (1982) and I are probably more members of the “Oregon Trail Generation” interstitial. I refuse to use that other term because it is lazy, no fun and sucks.

My first

Millennials are generally considered to have been born between 1981 and 1996. Despite your ever increasing age, you’ll never be an older millennial having been born in 1989.

On first glance I read it as Final Battle. Even after reading the article it took me a second to realize why you thought it was Anal Battle.

Sure haha, let me preface with: I assume these drivers all have to be a bit ‘weird’ to do what they do/get as far as they have and I do not think anyone has to agree with me (and I’d love to be proven wrong, I’d rather cheer for folks than against folks (seriously, I would be overjoyed if like 17 of the 20 drivers on

Merc could’ve used it, sure. The rest of us fans, though? As much as I like the Merc crew, I welcome the competition. To quote one of the greatest philosophers of our time, Mills Lane: “I want a good, clean fight.”
