This is a problem on other cars, too - not just American cars. Every BMW I have ever owned has this problem (plus the fabric on the trim falling off). Everyone I know with BMW’s have this issue, too.

My friend swapped the M5 bits into his 540iT and swears that it is one of his favorite modifications. He also did a manual swap and M5 LSD (I’ve only got the LSD), so his wagon is pretty awesome.
