The E84 Z4is a huge improvement over the E36/7 Z3 (I say this as a Z3 owner). It is just so much nicer inside. My neighbor has a Z4M roadster that I will definitely buy when he goes to sell it.

I have owned one of my dream cars. The E39 M5 was everything I expected and I loved it. I was not let down by it. I had a non-M e46 (E46 M3 is my other dream car), and I loved that car as well, so I don’t think I will be let down by the M3.

We all love a good restoration, but I don’t think it is very compelling TV. Anything more manufactured than Wheeler Dealers is going to be too much drama. And honestly, Wheeler Dealers is too car nerdy for most people. Top Gear and Grand Tour are pretty much the formula.

I have owned a few old (10+ years old) BMW’s (‘01 X5 (wife’s), ‘02 330ci, ‘01 M5, ‘97 M3 sedan (converted to manual), ‘00 540iT (current daily), and ‘00 Z3 (current autocross/track day)), but I would never jump into these cars if I didn’t work on them myself. Labor costs will get you more than parts.
