As someone real anal with hardware, please don’t use twist ties inside the case. They are usually some wire with a plastic coating. Even though the likelihood is low that a twist tie causes a short, you should still use non-conductive cable ties.
I’ve been watching RAM prices for my own build for the last year or so. Just under $100 for an 8GB DIMM seems about right. And 16GB DIMMs are just about double the cost of the 8GB.
Those NewerTech Voyager drive docks are the best. Plus I tend to get longer operating life out of HDDs which run in them rather than actual enclosures.
