As someone involved in geosciences, I think the attitude the characters exhibited towards my profession is a load of schist. Not gneiss at all.

This is my experience too, as a white-suburb-person. The women who are disgusted with Trump now saw him full well for who he was in 2016. The ones who voted for him didn’t care about that stuff because they were voting for fetuses, BlueLivesMatter, and tax cuts. They haven’t changed their minds on those issues in 18

liking Trump’s racist and classist policies but apparently not his manners”

I’m pretty convinced this woman is a myth. All the suburban white women I know (myself included) are either women who’ve voted Democrat since the Obama years (or before) and have not changed on this front, or are all-out ride-or-die GOP-ers, which includes the Trump-or-Bust subset. White suburban women have had their

Bert was dressed up as some ‘famous’ Geologist who won an award that he described as “the nobel prize for geologists”.....

The main joke was that not even the other scientists respect geology enough to have either cared nor to have any appreciation for the reference.

Massachusetts as well. I’m grateful for it.

Yes, it’s the same, “you forced me to beat you, why did you do that?” arguement that abusers always use.

“If you were just nicer to me I wouldn’t have to kill you.”

Those old arrow ones are the single best voting method I’ve ever seen. Easy to understand. No issues with elders who don’t know about the circles because they are older than the SAT. Paper trail. Fast.

We had the punch cards in Montgomery County in the 90s. It’s the only time I’ve ever been completely unsure if my vote

This is what the American media doesn’t understand. This woman is “tired” of something that doesn’t happen. She’s “tired” of some amorphous, vague, dog-whistled something or other that has never actually caused her a moment’s discomfort in all her damn life.

If I hear someone speaking a foreign language I automatically assume they’re smarter than me. Odds are good they speak that AND English. I speak only one language, bad Engilsh.

Yet another shining example of Catch-22 in action.

I mentioned to my wife last night, that I hadn’t realized it before but very little happens in each episode the past few seasons. Especially in comparison to something like The Good Place, which has been putting out season finale changes with each episode so far this season.

oooooh, what about a plotline where Amy gets pregnant and learns that female PhDs are expected to be in the lab the day before and the day after delivering their babies?? And where she is constantly side-eyed about “taking so much time off,” while Sheldon rises in his colleagues’ esteem for being a “family man.”

There are many things that this show doesn’t know. How sabbatical works is the least of them.

You’re doing the lord’s work, watching this show so we don’t have to.

It’s disturbing how long guys like him can get away with this just by picking the right victims.

In the meantime, I’m President, and you’re not.

Still wish she asked about that huge NYTimes tax fraud story. How on earth has that vanished from the news after only 2 weeks? It’s insane.

GAAAAAAHHHHH! Burn it down, no other choice.
