He’s a couple years older than me, otherwise I’d say Rockford Files 100%, if it’s a TV show he’s emulating. Otherwise Lew Archer (Harper) or Mike Hammer would seem to be in his wheelhouse.

The show with Natasha Lyonne as Columbo is with Rian Johnson
Fox Force Five or GTFO
The movie makes it pretty clear that Luke doing the killing would have been the exact wrong thing to do.
Weird how people always frame this as the fault of the guy who killed him off in the second movie, and not the guy who failed to characterize him in the first.
“I just wanna dive into like, my creative projects”
Given how many university-educated people I know (who I even took history classes with) who were angry with real-life Charles for things he said in-show... good.
Welcome to my totally unrelated spin-off:
More Stuff The Skywalkers Did On Tattooine
Last Jedi had it’s issues. I wasn’t wild about the Casino side-trip or really anything about Benicio del Toro’s role, but it was still, by far, the best, most artistically accomplished film of the sequel trilogy. Johnson swung big and made a big, beautiful, imperfect film.
Johnson (and Star Wars) needs to get away from the idea of doing a “trilogy.”
The trilogy “wasn’t trying” to tell any kind of story in Force Awakens other than a derivative story that hewed as close to ANH as possible. Even the writers/director admitted they weren’t thinking of any kind of plan beyond that one movie and had no clue how the rest of the trilogy was going to play out.
It’s annoying that not liking The Last Jedi means people assume you don’t like it because it had a diverse cast as opposed to the fact it was nonsensical and made established characters act out of character. But there was a *good* Star Wars movie with a diverse cast — it was called Rogue One! And featuring nearly all…
I like the Last Jedi but my problem with Star Wars now is the exact opposite of yours.
On one hand, it’s too bad we won’t get to see it. The Last Jedi might be my favorite Star Wars movie.
For a season that will have, among other things, a literal journey through Hell, the end of death, and an interdimensional war with God that trailer was oddly inert.
It isn’t meant to be Shatner’s Kirk though. The new films exist in an alternate reality where things butterflied greatly thanks to time-traveling future Romulans who were pissed off at the original Spock for failing to save their homeworld when their sun went Supernova. They took a futuristic planetary mining ship to…
Hot take: Let Seth McFarlane direct it. He’s a sci fi geek and has a great love for Star Trek, so why not?
I know some people like Beyond ... but I am not one of them. This series got worse with every installment. Let it die.
Sylvester McCoy is in this thing? Most excellent!
This is the only positive review I’ve seen thus far. The trailer looked like a spoof done by college kids for a couple grand
