That's a great quote! Pity the interviewer didn't bin the rest of the Solaris questions and ask Clooney dor one sentence descriptions of a bunch of other films.
Excession is the most entertaining one, and probably a good intro to the Culture - contrasting them with a more powerful entity and less powerful civilization. Also lots of lovely fireworks to CGI. That would be my preference for the first filmed adaptation.
