The Z3 was great, but the Z4 has been around for 16 years now and has never been much of a driver’a car. Can we move on to the Z5 already, hopefully with a proper M-Coupe version? Or even better make a Miata sized (and weighted) Z1?

Just checked the Nürburgring off when I did a few tentative laps in a rented Ford last month. But the funny thing is it’s still on there:

I did my first couple laps there about 2 weeks ago in a rented FoRS from RSR. Definitely a sensory overload trying to focus on the track, listen to the instructor, and deal with traffic. But totally worth it.

I did a couple laps a few weeks ago on a European vacation and looked into the supplemental insurance. First, it was hard to find a company to cover me since many Euro companies only cover Europeans and the American track insurers won’t cover the ring. When I finally did get a quote, it was over $600 for four laps in

I don’t know if you meant this, but it would be amazing to take the RSRX engine and mount it mid, driving the rear wheels. I’ve always loved the Renault mid-engine hatches like the 5 turbo or Clio v6. Nobody would suspect a Focus hatch until they looked through the rear windows and didn’t see seats...

The way I see it you can either take a car and add performance without changing the looks, or you can take a performance car and then make it look slower while keeping the internals intact. As somebody who appreciates warranties and isn’t into the tuning scene, I like the latter approach.

This one still haunts me:

-Cecil, could you please move your seat back? My ottoman is too far away.

I can think of 9 RS badges on my FoRS if you include the ones on the door sill, 10 including the one that shows up on the screen when you turn it on.

Thanks. Give Jalops a detail picture and you’ll get an ID within an hour ;-) Although my little avatar gives a big clue...

I run white wheels on my DD (kind of a fetish I guess...)

The pig is the coolest 911 but if we’re going for pure looks, you gotta go with white wheels:

How many people does it seat when driving? We have a awd Sienna that we camp in sometimes that also works well for hauling the family. If this thing can seat 7 then I’d instantly buy one if it went on sale here...

Yeah I think this could work. Many “halo cars” fail because they end up competing with more premium brands that are already doing the same thing. On the other hand doing something wacky and awesome that nobody else has done (in 20 years at least) could truly gain some attention/loyalty for the brand.

The FoRS doesn’t have your full time AWD but it doesn’t have Haldex either. With Haldex the torque takeoff is at the motor while the FoRS system has a full-time driven driveshaft with clutches at the rear.

Sure, but the launch control is at least twice as fun, and that’s what this whole article is about...

Hey Kristen, go check out a Focus RS. Sure it is more expensive, but you can get good deals on them right now. It also has launch control and I guarantee it launches way harder than the FiST: 350 bhp launching from 4500 rpm through all four wheels. It’s fun :-)

I see what you’re trying to do, but you’re wrong about the island. It has good restaurants, nice shells to find on the beautiful beaches and has some very expensive houses so I’d say it’s worth a trip. More importantly, it is never “along the way” because the only way to get there by car is to drive over the causeway,

Yeah, apparently the guy bought it for his wife who never drove it, so it just sat in the garage.

It’s been over a week since Ford’s announcement and we haven’t had any more bad news about SUVs. Thanks for keeping the hate alive.
