Another reason the 971 Panamera looks better than the original is the lip they added above the taillights. Cars never look good when the back keeps dropping at a steeper and steeper angle without any lip - I’m thinking of the Chrysler Crossfire and the taillights on the Lexus SC430.

Compromise.

Andrew, this article has some very helpful info but it is difficult to read. You use too many commas:

Unless we’re talking about a track special (which I guess this kind of is) sunroofs are underrated. I loved that the roof in my Prelude allowed me to enjoy the exhaust note without buffeting from open windows. If I buy a Focus RS, I’m gonna get a moonroof for the same reason. I won’t miss the minimal lost performance,

You can’t blame Elon for trying to talk some sense into the guy...

I’m inviting myself on your trip, Roman. This has been on my bucket list ever since traveling to the Andes. Are you going to drive the Darien Gap, or cart your car around?

I’ve test driven the RS (loved it) and will drive the Golf R before I buy. The problem is that the handling differences I’m interested in will only reveal themselves in hard driving - not on a test drive.

I know what you mean about Chris, but he’s not the only one to say that the RS has some artificial RWD weirdness to its handling. I get that the RS is more visceral, but I get the feeling that the R will be more friendly for me as a track-day novice. Also, this will be a DD and I think my family will be happier riding

I’ll be buying a new car soon and I’ve been dreaming of a FoRS for months already. Recently I’ve been reading through the forum threads about engines blowing up, also watching Chris Harris calling the handling artificial and heaping praise on the R. Now I think I’m gonna end up with a Golf R.

We just bought a house in a very snowy city and it was nearly impossible to find an affordable place with a third garage space for a project/track car.

Damn. I was hoping they would be taking the M4 (or even better the M2) to Le Mans. The M6 GTE already looks oversized next to the Corvette, 488, and 911, and the M8 will probably be even bigger :-/

Solstice has always looked great - especially the GXP version.

As good as it is, I gotta say the gold BBS LMs are my favorite part...

I was told once that the covers cushion the hard engine bits for pedestrians who are thrown onto the hood...

No, I’ll have to check that out.

It would also be beneficial to decrease downforce on the outside if the inside tire was closer to breaking loose (and causing the whole car to slide) compared to the outside.

“benchpress 350 pounds and eat sharp rusty nails for breakfast”

Yeah, I think lots of these things vary by state. Here in Arizona our psychiatrists essentially need to get a court order to hold somebody longer than 24h against their will. I don’t think they take insurance status into consideration (at least I hope not.)

I understand where you two are coming from - this was a lot to digest. But personally I’m glad David included some details about all of the phases of Terrence’s illness and recovery, as they each one might resonate specially for somebody. As an ER doctor, hearing about his experience on psych hold has made me rethink

It looks wrong, but I can’t tell if it really looks bad or it’s just my unconcious automotive spell check freaking out.
