Another reason the 971 Panamera looks better than the original is the lip they added above the taillights. Cars never look good when the back keeps dropping at a steeper and steeper angle without any lip - I’m thinking of the Chrysler Crossfire and the taillights on the Lexus SC430.

I’ve test driven the RS (loved it) and will drive the Golf R before I buy. The problem is that the handling differences I’m interested in will only reveal themselves in hard driving - not on a test drive.

I know what you mean about Chris, but he’s not the only one to say that the RS has some artificial RWD weirdness to its handling. I get that the RS is more visceral, but I get the feeling that the R will be more friendly for me as a track-day novice. Also, this will be a DD and I think my family will be happier riding…

Yeah, I think lots of these things vary by state. Here in Arizona our psychiatrists essentially need to get a court order to hold somebody longer than 24h against their will. I don’t think they take insurance status into consideration (at least I hope not.)
