“deliver justice at the ballot box”
Eh, he gets a pass from me. He’s written most of his life and now in his golden years he has international acclaim most writers can only dream of and is enjoying the benefits of that. Everyone wants that which is why we work so hard and aim for retirement.
Not sure about the headline — sure Westeros has a lot of violence but it also has far more women in positions of power than the US!
To be fair, Disney has always been a tighter run organization than the FBI.
Awwwww she likes Parks and Rec! That’s endearing.
And so fucking transparent. I don’t get how Republicans think they’re these smooth political operators. They remind me of my 4 year old nephew when he thinks he’s being really slick and sneaky and doing stuff behind the adults’ backs and he’s just so damn clumsy and obvious we can’t be bothered to stop him.
The truly amazing thing about this whole campaign (and the 30 years that preceeded it) is how a woman who independent and impartial analysis rates as “somewhat better than the rest of ‘em”, with a 30 year record of public service in which her worst verifiable transgressions are “changed position on various social…
So I’ve heard the “they let you do it” = consent argument a few times now and it’s so gross. If somebody is too scared or shocked or polite to punch someone in the face for unwanted physical contact, that’s not consent. It’s more like resignation.
“Fuck that shit. I’m sorry. I am just so sick of the arbitrary nature of staying employed.”
I get that. But surely its’ enough to be courteous and a say, “Can I help you?” Or, “How can I help you?” Or, “What can I do for you?” I don’t expect a service person to be maniacally happy, just polite and engaged and interested, if only on a professional level, in what I need. Genuine enthusiasm is great, but I’m…
It’s like their attitude is that they feel like strangers owe them the feeling like they’re happy to see them while they simultaneously treat those people like they’re beneath them. I’ve actually decided not to have second dates over this bullshit, it’s not cute when adults act like entitled emotionally fragile babies.
Ever shop at Costco? There’s a reason why their workers are affable and content, they are paid a living wage with health care benefits. It shouldn’t be a difficult concept to grasp, but many retailers in America fall short.
Even with the mess that is UK this is one of the many reasons why i could not move back to US. The lack of protection for workers in US made me feel so uneasy. At my job in US you could easily be fired for no reason and i did not belong to union like most my jobs in UK.
Fuck that shit. I’m sorry. I am just so sick of the arbitrary nature of staying employed.
Exactly, she didn’t stick around like Camilla Cosby or Dottie Sandusky.
Of course the cat didn’t look impressed. That’s how cats roll. You want an animal to look utterly impressed for no reason; get a dog.
western europe fashion trends minus 8 years = eastern european fashion trends
Interesting to see what was happening in fashion there at the time. I was a fashion student in 93, and no way we would have worn that. Shoulder pads had shrunk quite a bit since 87/88 before disappearing entirely; in my frame of reference, this was totally mid-late 80s power dressing.
