Our Princess, our General, our Queen.
I was watching this clip every once in a while back when she was still with us. When she died, I watched it again and almost lost it.
“I’m Mrs. Han Solo, and I’m an alcoholic.”
Always our Princess
It still hurts.
But let us return to a happier memory of Carrie. My personal favorite was her roast of George Lucas. My god, that lady had class.
Congrats, Carrie! We salute you!
Step 1: Waive the Jones Act.
Is it possible you were looking for a place to shit and just picked this show? I’ve never been blown away by the first episode of anything and think it’s a little soon to dump on this. Pinch it off and wait a few episodes. Thanks.
I was waiting for the iO9 bash all day to rebut.....
I liked last night’s pilot episode. It felt like a fanfic mash-up of ST:TNG and ST:DS9. Even down to the score and sound effects. I didn’t realize how much I wanted something like that until last night.

Say what you will, but I’m thankful for the fact that SG-1 went on essentially forever. I’m sad that Atlantis got canceled once it had found its footing after executive meddling, and could take or leave Universe. I liked Farscape and Firefly, but neither show is pure fun like Stargate was.
And Firefly fans got Serenity. The fact that they were both good doesn’t make those cancellations easier to take.
Figures. Dark Matter was significantly better than Killjoys, not that I didn’t enjoy them both, ‘cause I did. Oh, well. Farscape and Firefly were much better than Stargate SG1 but we know how that ended, don’t we? I guess nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American viewing public.
Killjoys has a coherent storyline. It just took them a while to bring it out from the shadows. Season 1 did have more “Bounty hunt of the week” episodes than it probably needed, though.
Money. Syfy produce three space-opera shows at the minute, if you include The Expanse. And the latter is the most costly to make, given the star-power, book cred and high production values.
At times they are both a bit tounge in cheek but Killjoys is a bit more so. Dark Matter was my fave of the 2 but when it comes to sci fi I’m admittedly omnivorous.
I’m happy for Killjoys, but dammit, I loved Dark Matter! I know both shows are “Hot Canadian actors running around with guns in disguised warehouses” but there was no real reason to cancel one of them.
I’ve never seen Dr Who but I really like this actress (excellent on Broadchurch) so I might watch.
