Well, they’ll probably only enforce it for women who “look Muslim”, however they understand that. As other people have pointed out, they’re not enforcing the law for nuns.
And it’s not religious wear. It’s just something women who don’t want to show a lot of skin can wear. Like the conservative Jewish and Christian women I know, who wear ankle length skirts. That’s it.
Well, it’s legal, but it’s definitely not acceptable.
Nope. And interestingly, outwardly ‘religious’ symbols are supposedly banned in schools: yalmukas, hijab, etc... interestingly, this does not apply to students who choose to wear a cross on their necklace because that’s small. So.
NPR had a story about that this morning. One of the poeple they interviewed on a beach in Normandy said he had seen nuns in habits at the beach the day before. No one bothered them. Here’s my shocked face.
I wonder how many conservatives can’t see their own hypocrisy as they support something like this while at the same time demanding “religious freedom” laws that allow people to comply with a “sincerely held religious belief?”
I guess it’s like Bill Murray. His hijinks have become public knowledge, yet somehow he gets a pass because...well...he’s Bill Murray and we all love his cantankerous, sardonic uncle schtick.
My current theory is that over 25 years of being told you’re wonderful, and a regular cocktail of drug and or alcohol abuse turns your brain to swiss cheese. Also, see Mel Gibson
He’s gross when he's trashed on drugs and or alcohol I'm am perfectly willing to accept that when he's straight he's a nice charming guy.
His 20s were full of stories of him trashing hotel rooms, attacking random people who mildly offended him, doing ridiculously dangerous things, and intentionally self-injuring. We noticed. We just labeled him as an exciting bad boy who seemingly calmed down when he took up with Vanessa Paradis.
My guess is he's always been gross but people are more inclined to agree now his looks have faded.
During its Thursday preview night, the Ghostbusters reboot started priming the cash pump, and she’s going good now.
The internet is humanity on steroids.
Quite frankly, the internet has been nothing but a blessing for hate groups and for bigots. Yes, overall the internet has had a democratizing effect and I do think it has led to people in general becoming more liberal. But it has also led to people being reinforced in their crazy ideas in a way that was literally…
“Real America”
Oh Jesus Christ. President Obama has been incredibly restrained in discussing unjustified shootings of Black men by the police. What the fuck is wrong with this moron?
