The degree of racism varies by ID law. On the obvious end you have places like Texas which restricted acceptable IDs to those that proportionally favored white voters (i.e drivers licenses, passports and concealed carry permits) while explicitly excluding the kinds of IDs more likely held by minority voters.

You want a government id? Ok, pay for it. Also, you gotta leave work in the middle of the day to go to the DMV to get it. Also, we closed the DMV in your ‘hood, but not in the nice white neighborhood. Have a nice day.
