It still won’t touch my main bike but my main bike can be fixed more easily (and it’s an e-bike) and haul everything from groceries to 50 lbs of kid up and down very steep hills.

But the people who want a peloton are NOT the ones out riding on the road when its 18 degrees.  That is me.   I am not your average person.

I did one summer of IRL rowing 17 years ago so I can say Hydrow’s instruction on form and pointers for how to improve your stroke strength really good. My husband’s form cleaned up and he looked like a real tower after just a couple of their intro classes. Also, the instructors are all personable and really do make me

We went ahead and got one exactly a month ago.  Our gym shut down and we needed something AND everyone (like 3 other families) that we know that went in - was thrilled.  Biggest argument for is simply ease of joining a class.  Roll out of bed, drink water, hit the bike for 20 to 30 min, and get to work at a reasonable

Not going to fight you because everything you said is truth.

Funny thing, the “high priced subscription” is comparable to a NY YMCA membership. Like I said, the monthly cost of both the bike and the subscription is only a fraction more than the damn YMCA....which is a nonprofit. How is this more “high priced” than most gyms? I do take issue that it may not be factually

Good for you! I hate biking outside.

Yeah, the Keiser is the only one that comes close (and tbh, I think the Keiser is smoother.) Peloton-bashing articles are really tiresome and lazy. It works great for a lot of people, and the payment plans are zero interest. It works out to be less than a gym membership and so much more convenient to use. That being

It is possible to want a Peloton, for a number of reasons, and also acknowledge that, for a number of reasons, that it might not be a practical thing in your life.

I’m really not into shaming someone for how they spend their money or touting yourself as a better person for buying something for less. It is their choice and their cash. As someone who has a severe anxiety disorder and clinical depression, this bike has been the best purchase I have made all year. Shit on it all you

My wife was about a year removed from having our baby. She suffered hard from postpartum depression & anxiety. We were tired, out of shape, over weight and surviving life. We did ALL the research with Peloton and all the other options. We cancelled our gym membership bc, hahahaha.... gym... infant/toddler.... We

Sigh. Is it too much to get someone who actually likes exercise (we exist!) to write about exercise and products that support it? There are valid criticisms to make about big fitness companies - but there are also pros to these products/services. I have never considered buying a Peloton until realizing 3 months after m

It’s pretty nice to have a job where one’s main job responsibilities include being judgmental and dismissive of things. Yes, you have to have some financial security and disposable income to afford the peloton bike. But, that seems to be the case with most fitness related consumer goods/services. The only affordable

Okay, I’ll take the bait. I have a Peloton and I unapologetically love it. Was their Christmas ad bad? Sure. Do I love working out on it? Yup! I am very fortunate that I can afford it but if you are able to, I highly recommend it. If you’re someone who needs to exercise for mental and/or physical health, it makes

I knew who wrote this piece by the headline alone - her disdain for celebrities is well-publicized on this site, and yet she is the one who writes the most about them.  Apparently Jez is now a celebrity-hate site.  SUPER COOL!

What exactly are you looking for in a celebrity profile of Chrissy Teigen that would make the writer of her puff piece being in the tank for her subject troublesome? I agree in principle that this wasn’t great journalism, but I also don’t think it’s terribly important that Marie Claire performs great journalism for

Not to mention that the journo to PR pipeline is emphatically not a new or unheard of thing in the industry, precisely because it pays more while generating a fraction of the stress.

Joan is legit the worst writer on this site. Occasionally she does good work, but it’s so rare that I usually only click on her stories by accident anymore.

Yeah, it’s not like she made her Secretary of Education or Attorney General. We’ll see how the journo likes being a chore whore.

Even if I cared, I wouldn’t be angry about a gym/yoga studio because it’s got to be cheaper and more practical for them to have a private one given security requirements and costs.

To clarify, the crown money only covered the essential structural repairs, basically flooring, walls, and electricity and gas. The Queen is legally obligated to maintain her Listed Buildings in a decent condition and she actually receives public money ringfenced for this specific purpose, so it’s shocking that
