My sister-in-law is Venezuelan and her whole family is still in Venezuela. They want US intervention. The answer to that is all going to depend on who your talking to in which part of the country.

Pretty much every public defender's office in Florida is chronically underfunded, but somehow the state attorney's office and the local clerk's office found enough money to pay for the time it took to coordinate and pull this off.

I watched the TPD press conference last night and could only feel rage. This is my home and he managed to violate every part of it.

My friend is living in the DC area and currently being furloughed. Apparently someone made the mistake of telling his wife that at least he would at least be able to take care of the kids and save them some money on daycare. Except they can’t because they have to pay on a monthly basis. And if the boys don’t show,

I grew up in a poor, rural community and you’re definitely correct in saying that you don’t need money to have clutter. Watching an episode of American Pickers will prove that.

For the most part, the only books that ended up on our shelves were popular junior fic and ya books and only if they were in good condition. Those titles had such high lost/damaged rates that donations helped us keep up with the replacement. Granted, there are some smaller, rural libraries that are a lot more excited

After spending 8.5 years in a public library, I must second this. Public libraries have limited shelf-space the reserve for books that are in good condition and up-to-date. I always felt bad when people would donate their grandparents’ old encyclopedias with the expectation that it would be placed in circulation. “We

I spent 8.5 years working at a public library. Every year, we received thousands of donated titles and you know what we did with most of them? We threw them away.

The kid is 9. Her wants are probably in direct opposition to her best interests.

I’ve read enough of his articles to know that they usually leave a sour taste in my mouth.

There’s a very thin line between “this medical stuff is weird and gross” and “the people who have these conditions are weird and gross.”

I've read The Light Between Oceans. I know how this ends. Not worth it.

This entire series reads like it was written by a bunch of bros who’ve never had the displeasure of living in a rural town in a red state. You know the kind where one or two “centrist” Democrats on the school board can be the difference between cafeteria and custodial workers remaining government employees instead of

She’s not just a contributor, but is the host of Hysteria. Former Jez writer, Kara Brown, is a co-host of Keep It.

I concur with this assessment. I’ve lived in Florida my entire life and most restaurants keep the AC going full blast year around. Growing up, when the hostess would ask my mom (a former restaurant manager) if she wanted us to be sat in smoking or non-smoking, she always replied “Wherever it’s warm.” She still asks

Six of the Gannett-owned newspapers in Florida hosted a Facebook Live Q&A yesterday which featured “experts” who were both for and against Amendment 4. The “expert” who was against Amendment 4, Barney Bishop III, tried to argue that felons shouldn’t have the vote because “they can’t read”. He starts on the literacy

Between the username and this story, I'm beginning to think you're my older brother.

I knew something was wrong with my mom’s uterus when she suddenly had a hysterectomy ten years ago, but it wasn’t until they found a grapefruit sized fibroid on my that she told me that her hysterectomy was because of fibroids.

I had a grapefruit sized fibroid removed last year and went in knowing there was a possibility that it could result in me not being able to have children. It terrified me at the time because I really wanted kids. The doc let me know afterwards that I could still have children, but I would have to have a C-section.

One of my closest friends has severe food allergies (eggs, milk protein, shellfish, and pineapple) and writing down her order can be crucial. There are a lot of dishes that have these ingredients in sauces or as part of the dishes that can easily be left off.
