Haven't played either of those two yet myself, although I do have the MGS HD Collection so I really have no excuse, but this was just from the trailer itself. It gave off a serious Apocalypse vibe and the characters seemed to inhabit the Four Horsemen personas.

That is what brought it to mind. Kojima seems to enjoy having a central theme not just to the games but to the bosses as well. Why not flip the script a bit and have his friends/allies have a theme this time?
