Given that MJ topped out at double-A ball, “got better” is doing some heavy lifting in that sentence.

(a) NBA players, staff, partners, and fans in the United States are American persons-as such, you support their right to express their opinions no matter the economic consequences

CLE was 7-8-1 last year, not 8-7-1. They haven’t had a winning season since Dubya was in office.

As a MIA fan, the primary reason I want to see the Browns lose is because I’m tired of the many idiotic Dolphin fans pointing to them as some sort of “Trust the Process” role model for why tanking is actually a great idea.

The sad part is that Josh McDaniels, Matt Patricia, and Brian Flores are all furiously scribbling “cut one of your most talented players and be a total dick to the media when they ask you about it” in their notebooks, certain that they have unlocked the secrets of Belichick’s success.

You can’t beat the classics.

There is no one alive who is familiar with Amelia Earhart or Oprah but not Michael Jackson, and it’s not close. (Do non-English speakers even know who Amelia Earhart is?)

My problem with the approach laid out in this article is that it’s the rhetorical equivalent of “Our broken justice system railroads enough black men as it is, so it’s a good thing that Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer weren’t indicted. Baby steps.”

Ray Allen is another one. MIA has no attachment to him, BOS excommunicated him, SEA doesn’t exist, and he did too much for other teams for MIL to care.

If the Sonics come back, I imagine Ray and KD will both have ceremonies there.

Yeah, he looks at the sendoffs that Kobe, Dirk, Wade, etc. have gotten and he can’t figure out why he doesn’t receive the same. But the short answer to that mystery is that you need to go “home” (or never have left) to get that treatment, and it’s not clear what team would even qualify for Melo. The Knicks are run by

I’m no billionaire industrialist, but based on overtime laws, wouldn’t it be literally cheaper to hire four people to work 40-hour weeks than to hire two people to work 80-hour weeks? Like, a LOT cheaper?  Especially when these are jobs that you are giving to 18-year-olds with no work experience?

James Dolan’s ongoing and legally protracted feud with Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and the city of Inglewood—which concerns Ballmer’s proposed new arena and how it would compete with an existing arena in the city that Dolan owns”

Just call it futbol if it matters that much to you.

If the US had lost, would they have been eliminated from the Olympics, as well?  Or have they already qualified elsewhere?

So when you see egregiously bad calls, do you think, “I don’t care if they get it right or wrong, I just want it to be FAST”?

It’s only “more stoppages” if the call is determined to be wrong and the team is awarded their timeout back. Otherwise, it’s just using a timeout that the team is already entitled to use.

Uhh, what?  The post-98 Bulls hit a wall that makes this look like a mild speed bump.  That team was completely detonated.

100%.
You hit another player in the head, you’re gone. If you are “accidentally” throwing at players’ heads, you need to be taken out of the game for safety reasons.

I’m surprised this doesn’t already happen (more) in the G League. Seems like a shoe deal alone would be enough to tank the NCAA for top prospects.

To anyone who says that instant replay is bad:

Tell us about the worst call instant replay got wrong, and then explain how it would be worth having a lot more of those every week if only the games were faster.

...except that now, the Wall is no longer part of the Six Kingdoms, but the North.  So the Six Kingdoms will be sending their convicts to another country?
