Berners: “If we vote third-party and/or stay home, and Republicans sweep across the board, Democrats will take this as a sign that the electorate wants more progressive government... which is why they elected Republicans.”

If you think the key to victory was to run against Donald Trump as if he were Paul Ryan, you’re insane. When you are running against an overt racist who is asking Russia to hack an opponent’s campaign, you don’t make his tax policy the touchstone of the campaign.

When Obama was running for office, there wasn’t an open SCOTUS seat that would flip control of the court. Nor was Obama running against an open racist publicly colluding with a foreign power.

Trump supporters voted to advance their interests; it makes no sense to try to shame them for getting the outcome they wanted. But it does make sense to shame the people who claim that they didn’t want this outcome, yet did nothing to prevent it from occurring.

Yes, insurance costs are higher under the ACA. But the flipside is that insurance companies are no longer allowed to cancel your coverage because you got sick. So I’m not sure your HATE for the ACA is warranted.

Let me fill in the step you missed:

It’s funny how I never heard anyone say “Insisting that gay people shouldn’t get married is LITERALLY why Obama is president” or “Keep defending the Confederate Flag and Obama’s going to win re-election.”  Strange how that works.

The NHL will always find a new and impressive way to shoot itself in the dick, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

That SF center should have gotten ankle insurance.

You think “hella” was only a thing in the ‘90s? How cute.

The news earlier this year about Darius Bazley stiffing Syracuse to enter the G League draft is incredibly important. If that kid does well and is an early first-rounder in the 2019 NBA draft, the NCAA house of cards will crumble.

Here’s the best take on this mural:

Wisconsin is Trump Country; tweets like Hader’s will only earn you respect for “telling it like it is.”

But what’s the alternative? NFL-style, where the two division winners with the best records get first-round byes? But if you do that, there’s no drawback to winning a wild card instead of the division.

I imagine those are the same fans who thought MEM should have taken Trae Young just to throw a wrench in the plans of ATL and DAL.

Many years ago, I was working security for a HOA pool very similar to this. Of course, you would have people tailgating through the gate without access, but given that you could bring through 4 people with your key, unless you were in a group of 10 people it usually wasn’t worth arguing over.

The only difference between this and normal free agency is that the Bulls would have been forced to pay LaVine MORE than the Kings to keep him, instead of simply matching what SAC offered.

It’s as dumb as the “this Democrat has taken campaign contributions, get ‘em!” routine that all those same people pull. Basically, due to their purity wank voting in 2000, a 5-4 Supreme Court majority outlawed campaign finance regulations.
