I also believe that Timothy Dalton's portrayal of Bond was a case of the wrong time (although personally I think "The Living Daylights" is a great movie). just look at all the similarities between those movies and the ones starring Daniel Craig.

I think his reply was more aimed at the criticism that quite a few people (online) seem to think Berry is a bad actress - which she is absolutely not.

btw: a point could be made that "Rock me Amadeus" was also a rap song that went to number one.
I pretty much assumed the parents of everyone else were at least almost as much into Fleetwood Mac as my parents were (during the 80s). turned out many of them didn't really know the band at all (me: "what?").

lol @ some of the comments. you sound just like my (and most of my friends') parents back then: "what kind of garbage is that, son?"
what? nobody mentioned classic porn?
unfortunately I can easily imagine it not making much sense to todays' kids already.
at least in Europe, that wasn't just a rock music thing but something that applied to culture in general. teenagers were perceived as being "adults" at a significantly younger age than today (also evidenced by explicit nude scenes - by todays' standards - from underage actors and actresses in movies, something which…
that's so weird from todays' perspective. yes, they are no super-bright films, but they aren't really that "dark" and "serious" as well.
you are right about this. maybe proven by the budget cuts for space programs. we (as in: the majority of people) just don't care about exploring what's "out there" anymore, we got enough to deal with right now.
didn't the "Halloween" remakes do exactly that?
I disagree with the second part. I believe the general themes of a movie like WarGames or Cold War era stories could still be done today.
and movies, music and books are even relatively un-affected by this. I mean, compare them to "old" fashion or old computer/video games ("it has better graphics, it must be a better game, right?").
what angered me the most in the recent is geoblocking. I mean, the internet is the only medium that can be accessed (almost) worldwide. that's one of the best things about it.
I think that has to do with how many people overestimate what computer are capable of (in the near future).
also it prevents the series from being "color corrected" for newer dvd/bluray releases.
I think it's so unfortunate that the first season took so long to pick up its pace because so many viewers have jumped off at this point.
the only thing I don't understand is why they never call her "Mockingbird". I mean, I get you wouldn't use that name in a friendly conversation, but it could at least be used as some sort of her agent codename.
