Something that bothers me about all of the coverage of Daniel Holtzclaw is that I haven’t seen and heard enough about the gorgeous human being who brought him to justice: Jannie Ligons. I’ve endured every angle of Holtzclaw’s rage-y, deflated mug, and haven’t heard enough about the first police complaint, the first

That they still obviously consider him to be “their own” speaks fucking volumes.

I just want to know what the hell is going on and make sure they’re not trying to give him special treatment because he was in law enforcement.

“We threw him down a hole and threw away the hole.”

I am so wary of police policing police that this feels very troubling to me. I don't want to go full paranoid, but it seems fishy

Please please only use the photo of him crying like the asshole coward rapist he is when posting about him.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Jesus Christ, the number of outraged white boys in this thread is fucking astronomical. But I’m absolutely sure if this was a man of color or any color of woman, they’d be doing the same thing. Really.

We don’t know anything until we actually know more so when dealing with the tip of the iceberg we should treat others how we would like to be treated ourselves, which to me is the basis of left wing views.

I’m not saying he is innocent or guilty, but he does deserve the presumption of innocence until a court and jury of his peers prove otherwise.

How about using his mugshot like every other major news outlet?

I didn’t know Deadspin was a court of law.

not in the court of public opinion, which is really all we’re dealing with in the forum. But thanks, Lionel Hutz

From one of the linked articles:

I have much guilt for replying in this manner, but once the police put up the crime scene tape, the jig was up. He’d run through it, think he’d won and that’s that.

I’m not going to jump to any conclusions until I have all the facts, but it appears that Eisenhauer made two mistakes. The first is that he senselessly and maliciously murdered a 13 year old girl. The second is that he did not attempt to run from the police.

Now playing

Ice Cube: “Maybe we should have put a slave in Staight Outta Compton.” 5:00 mark.

It’s pretty fucking rich that people are cool with consuming and confronting slavery in the form of entertainment while gasping at the horror of it all, but refuse to budge when it comes to things like criminal justice reform, income inequality, etc., and acknowledging the lingering effects of a country built on the

YOU MEAN BLACK PEOPLE DO OTHER STUFF AND JUST LIKE LIVE THEIR LIVES AS BEST THEY CAN LIKE EVERYONE ELSE?

I’m tired of slave movies, too. We only get kudos when presenting a racial struggle. It’s frustrating. I loved the movie Creed— Ryan Coogler presented a thoughtful, nuanced, beautifully made picture, and the weakest thing about it was Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. I can’t stand blood sport . . . and yet I was

Well, he is Putin’s biggest fan, so whatever.
