And yet in my town there’s a 10 foot back of road that’s been taken down to to rough pavement and has sat untouched in this state for almost 2 full weeks, causing traffic delays on a major commuting route.

“You can’t determine someone’s gender by physical characteristics alone. It’s a social construct.”

My cats routinely scare the shit out of each other and themselves for literally no reason whatsoever. What long lasting psychological horrors are they inflicting on themselves and each other simply by being cats?

Typically the warrior class is vulnerable to mages, but has an advantage against archers.

But Gender as a social construct IS about how I identify and how I feel. Why is race different?

Huh. Thanksgiving’s right around the corner. I think it’s time we roast some Turkey.

Sounds like they created quite a zone of danger.

If someone ever tried to serve me these noodles next to a nice Italian dish, I would have to break their kneecaps.

They wouldn’t be able to produce them fast enough to keep up with the demands of feminists.

Easy: She was toeing the token Liberal line. Her blackface had noble intentions, therefore it’s forgivable - nay, lauded, even.

That doesn’t address my question about my right to identify where I fit into that construct to match the way my mind tells me I am.

Don’t try and kid yourself. This is nothing new. Remember when Giz was a blog about tech, instead of a tech culture blog?

The Pope is cool and all but I really think he needs some help with that whole imaginary friend thing. Most people grow out of that during childhood.

But as an individual within that society, is it not my right to make my own place within that construct? Who decides better than myself where I belong in a society?

No. I’m just trying to understand why one social construct can be fluid and the other can’t. The stupidity is on the part of those doing mental gymnastics to justify their ridiculous worldview.

So basically, it all boils down to everything being social constructs and ever changing and completely unable to pin down a solid definition of what race and gender are?

You say it’s because of societal standards. If we live in a society that accepts race is a social construct, then why can I not identify as a different race, if I truly believe in my heart of hearts that I’m not a white person?

So if women and transpeople are oppressed, doesn’t that make gender a phenotype, as well?

But I’m not white, I don’t have white privilege. Please respect the race I identify as.
