What about throwing a curveball? Say if we win and defeat the legion.. we are weak, defenseless, so the gnomes of Azeroth take matters into their own hands.. they try to create a robot or AI to defeat any baddies that come along in the future only to turn out to be evil... (pretty much the story ark of age of ultron)
