While I am no peticular fan of the Model T Ford, my mother would always tell me it was the car that put America on the road. And indeed it did! the emergence of the $5 dollar a day wage for the blue collar worker, a new car for less than a grand, something on the order of 12 million units made. What's more American

I stopped reading a point /counterpoint. sorry this was all I could think of.

Oil spots and dried gum??? Well hell, if you own a PC.... what better desktop would you need!

well statistically speaking i'm probably well below the average length of ownership. I purchased my first car in the fall of 1984, Since than I have owned 12 cars so far. The longest of which I bought new in October 1999, my Subaru Impreza RS, I owned it for a mere 6 1/2 years and racked up 140,000 miles on it before

Awsome, thanks!

I live quite near Albany NY where no car, including Benz, can hide from our really crappy climate and salt painted roads. Yet I still see 80's 90's Corollas on a regular basis, are they rusty? You bet! but still! I see so many.

What's a "Mexican hoopty"? Never heard that before! sincerely, a New Yorker.

Yup!
