The Fiat 500 should do very well here, or at least the blokes on Top Gear seem to think is a good car anyway. If that's the case the 500 might give cars like the Corolla and the Mini a run for its money.

Keep going your doing fine. Just remember to give everything a good cleaning as you go, there's nothing worse than a finished project car that's still a greasy mess.

Hey, whatever it takes.

The Dude Abides, the dude abides!

Yet another in a very long list of reasons I no longer buy cars from American automakers, it's to bad too because at one time I owned a couple old GM products really enjoyed. I would do it again if the big three and it's workers took their job seriously and didn't treat it like a joke. But, I doubt that will ever

Say what you will about Toyota, but I really miss the rear wheel drive Corolla's especially the Twin Cam GTS. 1987 saw the last sporty subcompact with plenty of thrill at a reasonable price, and the last RWD of it's kind.

29? yea right!

@jeepsta: There needs to be more of this everywhere, and perhaps the next generation can learn that not all things are fixed with a reset button.

Looks like fun!

@Battle Wagon: Not an entirely bad idea. I bet there's a market for it too.

@imiss2xwishbones: I had the luxury of riding in my brother-inlaws 411 some years ago. It was cold, rough, and noisy! if you ever get the chance, do not hesitate! get in and go somewhere.

Yea, not a bad position from any perspective!

I have owned and driven so many, and when I think about it I cannot help myself from coming back to this! Simple, solid and fun to drive. it's reliable and capable, so long as your not towing a fifth wheel. I can only imagine running my Saturday morning errands in such a beast, pulling into convenient store parking

@stayingclassy: Change is most difficult, I am in agreence completely.

@slackslider: The numbers may not lie, however the driver of today is far less safer than the car their in, All you have to do is travel on any road in 1980 and 2010 to know the difference. Sure technology has made cars safer, thats a no brainer. Technology has also created an environment of near total distraction on

For most of m driving life I have owned manual transmissions in my cars, as an adult I have been left with little option but to buy a family car which naturally has no manual option. To this end I am both happy and regretful, Happy that I no longer have to baby a clutch in commuter traffic everyday, and regretful that

@tomcat630: Parents had a 1974 Volvo sedan, even the switches were square. good one!

@elchimpo: It's painfully true just how bad American made cars are, the 3 that I have owned over the years did everything, and I mean everything you described. I owned my last American car in 1990, I will never go through the pain of being stranded constantly, or the motor blowing up altogether and generally acting

Oh, and can you say "bite the hand that feeds you"? I knew you could!

Hey no problem, next time we'll just let GM sink like a torpedoed WWII sub and save taxpayers (Democrats and Republicans alike) the trouble of having to bail out a misguided, mismanaged company that's clearly there for the benefit of a handful overpriced CEO's.
