I don’t think I have enough faith in corporations or politicians to believe they would have ever willingly enacted safety regulations upon themselves. See:

Ralph Nader is going to catch some shit for this and we all love to hate him (especially for the 2000 election) but he’s 100% right. And about automotive safety he’s almost always been right. Cars were horribly, viciously unsafe until this nerd came along.

I’m not a Tesla fan and will never buy one, but I totally hate that POS Nader. When he wrote Unsafe At Any Speed he destroyed what probably would evolved into one great American car. The second generation Corvairs were good cars for their day.

I was surprised to see he wast still a “thing” lol. In addition to him I’ve been seeing a commercial during the news from another advocate calling for congress to shut tesla’s FSD down.

Oh gawd...”Unsafe at Any Speed” is back.

Right? This is EA we’re talking about here. The second a game goes into a slump, they cut ties and leave the devs to rot.

So the military wants sluggish, often unresponsive, poorly optimized software for their weapons systems? Interesting.

It isn’t even really broken. People are annoyed they don’t get to pubstomp every match and don’t seem to understand their connection issues are absolutely not universal. Maybe there’s a case to be made for the very top end ranked lobbies being a bit unbalanced but Respawn has always said they’re prioritizing queue

Every now and then, some Che Guevara-wannabe on Reddit writes some impassioned “Guardians of the system, unite! Throw off your chains!” manifesto on the Destiny boards that sounds very similar to the original #NoApexAugust Reddit post mentioned here. They’re met almost universally with ‘lol, lmao’, ‘touch grass’, and

I can’t help but think that if this had worked as intended, “troubled game experiences massive player dropoff” is likelier to get the game abandoned than fixed.

I am so excited to hear someone else beating this drum for once. DUI accidents pale in comparison to distracted driving accidents - but one is a felony and the other, is nothing in most cases —-when the downvote party starts because you dared to say that drunk driving and distracted driving are similar - I will be

I have never felt comfortable using the touchscreen infotainments like android auto. It takes my eyes too far out of my line of sight and for too long. Having studied a little ergonomics, by having your phone high on the dash or on the windshield and at a distance is better than these massive infotainments that

Sort of to your point - I remember when they started talking about a new law in NY to make texting and driving illegal. This was a few years (maybe 4 or 5) after they made talking on the phone illegal. Everyone I talked to had the same reaction as me, which was “wtf? do you mean that texting has been legal this entire

I don’t know why it pisses me off so much more when it’s a 50+ year old person texting or looking at their phone while driving. Maybe because they are worse at it (seriously Karen, you can’t text a coherent sentence while on your couch, why do you think you can while driving your F250 in the passing lane on a windy

Seeing the distribution would definitely be interesting. Some of it must be people buying higher optioned models or jumping up a class solely because that was all that was available (because that’s what manufacturers are building), but I’m thinking that a lot of it isn’t a change to the mix of vehicles being sold,

maybe you’ll want to wait until the upcoming remake that no one asked for.”

That is stupid. A proper, modern RE4 remake is something I wanted for a very long time already. The game is cool, just the control sucks. A modernized remake is exactly what is needed.

A $50K car is still pretty damned luxurious. You can get a perfectly adequate new car for $20K-$26K. Corollas, Mazda3s, Civics, Camrys, Accords and sundry other dull but worthy cars. You can buy a couple of Korean cars for less than that.

Problem is, it’s NEVER enforced. Studies have shown that distracted driving is just as bad, if not worse, than driving under the influence.   Punishment for both should be similar.

So when are we going to have “MATT” - Mothers Against Talking and Texting?

Oh right.  Never.  Half the soccer-moms in the United States

As much as I want evs to succeed  I question the need to expand the credits.  Go try to buy any of these cars and get one in the next 6 months.  I think the demand side is strong enough on its own.  It feels like investing in charging infrastructure would do more to dance the cause.

Didn’t we already have a video game that was inspired by Heart of Darkness?
