Drop a name for a gal who’d love a leather driver in my ancient Element?

What kind of car show involves worn out ~20 year old vehicles that were perfectly fine and utilitarian back in the day, but not for enthusiasts? The only ‘car show’ I can think of that this vehicle qualifies for is The Walmart Parking Lot.

That’s about the going rate for clean GMT800 SUV’s unfortunately. Especially one with under 100k miles. Clean and relatively low miles, the thing will last another 20 years, as long as you wash it so the truck doesn’t rust out from underneath you.

Yep. I have replaced a lot of seats on the fleet side, I always made sure the seats were great for my drivers, as vehicles with a lot of entering/exit would only last a few years. Doing that showed that “middle” management cared. Shocking cheap IMO but make a world of difference. And folks equate upholstery condition

“at a finished project price” well-said, that is exactly the case. There is a strong market for 2-door tahoes just like this one. If this car was completely buttoned-up and super clean, someone would gladly pay $17k for it. This one just isn’t there yet.

Rust in unibody where the front upper control arms go in kills them everytime. My 1.3 Metro had 180K on it and going strong when I sold it.

I refuse to accept this as the new reality.

I have a 2015 as well and when I bought it I literally looked for the cheapest car I could get with the longest warranty. 7 years later and its never had one issue and does not have a squeak, rattle, or any other odd noises. Replaced brakes once and new tires twice. I live in a midwest rust belt city full of potholes,

3 years ago, a 50k mile Camry that was 5 years old would kick the crap out of a Mirage for the same price. Today, it’s more like a 10 year old Camry with 100k miles that’s the same price.

Plus, it comes in purple.

Lightweight, cheap to buy and run, simple, and manual-equipped. A lot of people (mostly around here) would dig it if only their heads weren’t so far up their asses.

This car is problematic if (1) it is venerated because of its connection to the Nazi era, and (2) the people venerating it are doing so as a back-handed way to praise Nazi accomplishments. Is there evidence of this in the actions of the owners, the judges, or the Pebble Beach management? Or is the fact that the car

Lmao, I’m sure a single mom of 3 whose dirt poor and needs a car has $10k cash lying around to buy a car.

I did not know the Rio had become so expensive.

I’m *very* here for the Mirage. I had one as a rental several years ago and it was fun as hell being able to park anywhere and never taking a single corner on all four wheels. I used it like a golf cart at a Lemons weekend because it honestly wasn’t much bigger.

Exactly. You can lose the full value of a Mirage buying any expensive luxury vehicle just putting the plates on it for the first time.

Thanks, that was my point.

Yea I own 2 Mitsubishi’s, a modified Evo and Outlander sport. They’ve never given me any issues.

I had a Mirage as a rental car once, and the thing constantly made me giggle.

Since I actually own a 2017 Mirage ES and have driven it 50,000 miles, let me straighten you out. There are two valid criticisms of this car: It is overpriced in the U.S. market (though I bought my 5-spd for $12 grand OTD in the LA area) and it is very loud in the cabin at freeway speeds compared to most other cars
