Hey, I’m not judging.
Hey, I’m not judging.
This is why I love Hellcats. They don't exist to make to be driven on the track. They exist to make ludicrous burnouts.
It’s a pity that those buyers don’t seem to be considering the Taycan, which is wickedly fast, extremely comfortable, much better in traffic, and can take passengers on the weekend. But the idea of speed is too much for many, even when they’re crawling between stoplights.
Just get a CPO turbo, the savings in registration fees alone is worth it.
I had to regularly stuff my 6' tall self into the back of a ‘70s 911 as a kid - with my baby brother beside me. Because the alternative was walking. Luckily, kids are bendy and don’t generally have bad backs.
You make a good point about cars needing both paddle shifters plus a shift lever. Hard to reach a paddle while turning. I use both on my car regularly. Paddles normally, shift lever when turning sharply.
It’s not worth $200k. Has porsche ever made a decent interior? If the porsche logo wasn’t anywhere, most would think it’s from some cheap german car. The dopey joy stick shifter sitting on prime real estate is so fucking stupid. Maybe the black on black doesn’t help but why do the buttons look so shiny and cheap?
I’m going to say something that many of you will likely never even think about. The difference between a 911 S or a 911 4S, and then the 911 Turbo, in term of buyer, is just your level of crazy.
Kid is wanted for sidetracking this post about a car I will never have. I can’t ever afford that 911 on Bring a Trailer that should be crushed for Beer Money it looks so bad.
If you have that kind of money, you buy whatever you want without sweating it.
Porsche making a new car with with similar looks to the old on isn’t the same as Nissan putting a body kit on a 350z and calling it a new car for a 2nd time.
Understand your sentiment. Do such cars even need to get out second gear to surpass freeway speed limits? I have a base Cayman w/ sport chrono that zips arounds streets and freeway and handles like a gem. If it had any more acceleration I would spend more time trying to keep speed/acceleration below "kill inattentive…
Nah. We don’t complain about Porsche not fucking with what already looks good and performs better, but we will certainly complain about a 350z in a retro body kit with an ugly front fascia being presented as a new car that’s supposed to excite us for the future of Nissan’s offerings. Those two are not the same.
“OMG, It looks the same as the last 911.” — The same people that complained about the Z Proto, probably.
All the best, Patrick. You have made Jalopnik a better place despite the chaos around you. Jalopnik has made me a better, well, Jalop (and person) during your time here as well.
I’m going to miss you terribly, Patrick. Thanks for the help you’ve given me.
