She's also convincing a whole generation of young girls that the best way to reach any vestige of 'maturity' is to date douchebags and if you don't tame them then happily break up with them with no consequences whatsoever. You know, because that's so realistic and possible. Because that's just so easy and painless.

There's a difference between making simple good music and simple music that barely strains to be above average. And when you consider how much simple great music Green Day has made, I find it hard to justify this album's existence.

Well, even if we're going off of your incorrect statement that Green Day's been making 'adult contemporary shit' for the last decade (technically untrue, considering Warning came out before 2002, and considering I'd have a hard time calling 'American Idiot' or '21st Century Breakdown' "adult alternative" (I find it

The Killers aren't a great band, completely agree. Their lyrics are ephemeral at best, and their instrumentation is nothing that other New Wave bands twenty years their senior haven't done better.

…well, he was in 'Mazes and Monsters', the hilariously awful anti-D&D propaganda film. You could consider that a black spot on his general likeability, albeit not much of one.

I had very similar response to that scene - I mean, considering all the screaming they made Emily Mortimer do at the start of the episode, this was just overblown and completely unnecessary, not to mention misogynistic as all hell - and I found it significantly worse than the dress shop scene, which cemented one thing

Huh, Quadrophenia? Really? It's probably on the list of my favourite Who records.

Agree with pretty much everything you say here, namely for the reason that all of the dumb slapstick and physical comedy is absolutely terrible for maintaining a consistent tone, and the 'Rudy' scene really didn't help that. If Sorkin wants this show to be taken seriously - and considering how much time Will spends

@avclub-e305c4a87433ee66e142f67c450fdf6a:disqus if Bruce Wayne is a scientist, he's a bad one with questionable ethics. Not only did he refuse to reveal the fact that he invented the first fusion reactor - you know, something the scientific community would be VERY interested in, but his reason for not releasing it to

Ugh, any of the relationship drama on this goddamn show doesn't work, half because it's awkward and obviously intended as devices to drive the plot, and half because the majority of the characters on this show have a consistent character outside of vaguely defined stock stereotypes. I get that Sorkin's trying to

@avclub-52ed1f89cb6f846e8efba0e4eacf9c27:disqus - okay, maybe Rihanna has forgiven him. I don't feel comfortable criticizing the decisions of an abuse victim, so I'm not going to comment on that. I wish that she had chosen to set a better example, although I doubt it would have done anything for Brown's besotted and
