Curious what you’d rather have in the same performance bracket and price point? The rear seats allow justification to family members that the kiddos can come along. So what other 2+2 can you get for 17k that’ll give the power and nimbleness?

Deaths typically follow three weeks or more from infection. We are just now seeing a major uptick in cases in many parts of the country, so the corresponding rise in deaths won’t occur for about another month.

Counterpoint: proximity keys are great. I keep it in my pocket, and do not have to fuss with it. I walk up to the car, press the door handle, get in, and press start. Using the phone just cuts down on one more thing I have to carry. If I have to take it out of my pocket that spoils  the benefits though, so we’ll see

Well I think a lot of companies will see it that way. Most never reimbursed commuting expenses, so it is easy enough for them to point to that and say “we’re both saving money so whatever”.

My girlfriend who works at a financial company, is getting a $500 stipend to cover past or future office equipment for home. No strings attached.

Companies haven’t historically reimbursed commuting, so although I would like a stipend to cover my internet, I’m pretty happy saving the money from commuting and calling it even.

Power seats have much better fine-tune adjustments. And also more points of adjustment. But I find it’s definitely easier to get back to the right spot with power seats. Plus some have memory.

The car has been in Minnesota since 2017 and has only been driven 7k miles. I doubt it was driven much if at all over winter. Driven April-November that’s only about 300 miles a month, which is totally reasonable. Even with the LSD, it wouldn’t be my first choice in the winter here either.

Nope, did not. If you had said hammered on the “starter” it would have been much more clear.

So what I’m seeing is if you want to sell your car or house in the next year or two, do it now. And then buy after the market truly falls. If it doesn’t, you still probably did ok on value selling now anyway.

He must have been hammering on the AC compressor. No Freon in a starter!

Look at the owners manual. Mine says that it is bad for the emissions system. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but I haven’t seen a straight answer on what issues it would actually cause.

I posted asking about this. My Hyundai Elantra GT also warns about push-starting re: catalytic converter damage. Wondering how much damage, or if they are just being overly cautious.

The manual on my Hyundai Elantra GT with 6MT transmission asserts that you should never bump start the car. The claim is that is can damage the catalytic converter. Anyone know anything about this?

It looks like rather than rotating 180°, the kubelwagen doors needed to be swapped onto the opposite side of the vehicle. So the driver front could be swapped with the passenger rear and vice-versa.

I guess this slightly mitigates the extremely dangerous tendency to jackknife you’d get from attaching a trailer to the back of a car already pretty prone to snap oversteer.

Even just the first known existence of our two best known branches of modern humans, sapiens sapiens* and sapiens Neanderthalis vs our oldest discovered art vs the known history of civilization is mind boggling.

As long as you can leave the headlights on permanently, and they turn off when you are done driving that’s fine in my book. I think that is better than auto headlights because you don’t forget to turn them on in the rain, which is most people’s problem with auto headlights. I’ve always found the cars that left the

What automakers are releasing NEW models? Not facelifts or updates, which are built on the same, partially retooled line of that model from the previous model year. The new Ford Bronco is one, but I can’t think of many others. The Y is based on the 3 but it is substantially different and not built on the same line.

Doesn’t change that it is a crossover. Just give me a fastback-style 3 with the improvements of the Y and I will be happy.
