I think it’s interesting that you felt a cutscene depicting a “dark ending” was punishing you.

Samuel’s betrayal was one of the best moments in video games, ever. It actually hurt me on an emotional level.

I agree somewhat but I think that was done purposefully. Think of the little sisters in Bioshock (if you played it). Yeah you need to kill some of them if you want to level up your abilities but hey you really shouldn’t look how innocent (and creepy) they look.

Choices have consequences, oh my.

i think that was their intention. yeah, it’s super fun and awesome to kill people, especially with all the ways you can. there’s also an immense feeling of satisfaction going through that game and not killing a single person. to each their own.

See I kinda liked that part of the game. I found it fits witht the idea that killing is easy, but it makes you more like your enemy. Killing everyone makes you no different from them, but if you choose not to kill, you’re still the hero, rather than an anti-hero. It is a kind of artificial difficulty, but narrative
