    Not when you have finite resources for security, you are going to focus on the type of things that cause the malls liability insurance go up, like violence/riots etc.

    Those particular type of shootings are still barely a blip in the overall crime stats...The day to day street violence is more common

    Maybe they are worried about something other than shoplifting, like mall riots, gang shit, etc

    In NYC we know that we have crazy homeless people walking the streets/subways and most of the time these types of incidents are perpetrated by them....maybe this will be the one time that it was a sober thought out decision to attack a person of color on the subway.

    Is it cherry picking, seems to happen often, I would have a hard time cherry picking videos showing Asian-Americans pulling the same actions. At 13% of the population African Americans should in 2018 have crime rates approaching Asian-Americans but that does not seem to be happening. Is is not wrong to ask why that is.…

    Being security conscious is not being racist, if a disproportional amount of purple,blue or people of no color were doing things that made the mall unsafe or hurting the bottom line it is expected that security would pay more attention towards them....Color is not the main cause for the attention.

    So we are going to ignore the reality and just insult people when the truth is too inconvenient to talk about.

    Yeah the local news investigated it  and found that it was shot in two different towns, not the same officers responding. They found other problems as well, so not really a scientific experiment
