I absolutely loved it; it was well-executed pulp. I wish everything were like that. (I don't think I've been exhaustive enough in my movie-watching to speak about year's-best, but it definitely cracks my top ten, easy.)

We don't have to jump straight to killing Eddie; a vasectomy would do the trick.
I wonder what the Admiral would have said to the nun called Maria.
She was perfectly cast in Last of the Mohicans.
He was a serial proposer.
Heck of a smile.
Did anything else change in between the pilot(s) and the finale, or was it pretty much [major events at the very beginning] then [status quo] then [major events at the very end]?
Nurse Jackie's best friend is a great character—not much to her, but just breezy and good-humored and fun to be around. There's also a quirky nurse who steals every scene she's in. Unfortunately this exhausts the list of the show's positives.
[What hypotheses did you have before we found out 'what was up with' the Dan Stevens character?]

They will mumble really fast and get punched all the time.
Happy anti-belated birthday!
They've even cancelled shows that were straight-up ordered to series (skipping the pilot stage, presumably because everyone was confident about the show). Super weird. (E.g., "Hieroglyph")
LOL I realized it looked like a dig and decided to leave it in; in truth, I tend to forget which channels shows air on. (I feel I don't have a good brain heuristic for "Call up all the Showtime shows I've seen"—and IMDb seems pretty coy about what channels things have aired on…)
The Ogre sees Bullock tumble down the stairs BUT doesn't make sure he's out/dead.
I assumed this was the trademark of some villain I haven't heard of. Maybe something like Charles Bernard Skit, commonly known as Chip B. Skit.
There's kind of no intrinsic reason it couldn't improve—except for maybe the fact that, as far as I can tell, the show has run out of new gears for Carrie. But it's such a huge gulf between the (perceived or real) quality of the beginning and what we've been getting more recently. And I can't remember the last…
PPS Im thinking of geting a wip.
Diet Dr Pepper.
