Under this administration the U.S. is going to fall further behind in terms of science, technology, medical breakthroughs, etc. Countries like Canada, Chile, and France are openly recruiting foreigners who have scientific, tech and medical expertise to come and work there.

I’ve posted this before, but I have a colleague who moved to Canada a few months ago because he couldn’t bring his wife and kid over from Iran. This guy has 2 PhDs, and won some kind of national Iranian science competition. And we basically kicked him out. Fucking ridiculous.

Anyone who faked enthusiasm would be caught immediately as a pretender. Melania’s antipathy is part of why she’s convincing; no one really likes Trump so anyone who claims to is instantly suspicious.

It’s supposed to be a Chinese symbol for “Dream”. I looked it up in a translation dictionary at Barnes and Noble one day after school, lol. No idea if it’s accurate, could be totally off because of context or something.

SAME for all of this. Well, maybe not the tattoo. My first one was pretty terrible and culturally appropriating in the terrible white girl tradition of inking Asian symbols. But it’s located in a spot where no one sees it unless I really really want them too (and not a tramp stamp) so I often forget it exists.

I am thankful for all these things, except the bad tattoo. I really did get a prison style tattoo because the guy needed to practice and I liked him enough to be his canvas. Not the worst thing and i still got a cool story out of it =)

In the afterglow of Thanksgiving, I’d like to take a moment to be thankful...Dear Lord, I’m thankful that social media did not exist when I was that age. I’m thankful that I never got herpes or a DUI or even a bad tattoo. I’m not sure how I managed that, but thank you forever and ever. Amen.
