This was so hilarious and on point, I started sobbing right away, but I cry easily. My boyfriend never cries with me (not even Obama’s farewell speech), but he actually wiped his eyes during this skit. :’)

Please check out elizabethsuzann.com. Pricey, but they produce great high quality basic staples and by far the most transparent in their ethical business practices that I’ve seen around. The clothing is made upon order, in Nashville. May not have a huge variety you are looking for either, but each piece is versatile

Seriously. Excellent point!

I’m in my late 30s and find this style something that I can wear continuously into my golden years. I no longer care about latest trends (though this has become a trend) and have been looking for a few well made timeless staple pieces that can be worn for a very long time. Yeah, kind of like the 500 days of Kristen (which I hated, but this one I would love!)

Learned something new today! Thanks for posting these.

This comment is perfect. I agree with all of it.

Oh sorry for the late reply, just saw this! So happy to share: @the_corsetedbeauty @katestrasdin @susan_holloway_scott_author @walking_through_history @virtuouscourtesan (the latter 2 recreate historical garments—amazing). Those are a few of my faves, but there are many many more great ones and I’m sure you will find

Oh man, this article gave me a good laugh. I agree with everything. Thank you.

Yeah! I loved Laura’s descriptions of dress wearing/making in the books. I reread the Little House series recently and they really got me into learning more about historical dress. Combine renewed interest with the ABUNDANCE of awesome dress historians on instagram to gawk over... and I’m not getting much work done.

It would be great if some B-listers said they’ll go but turn around and say “PSYCH” after the Trump administration brags about all the celebrities coming to the party.
