I hadn’t thought of that, and would probably apply a good bit of reflector tape to the inside of the sub-tailgate for when it becomes the outside. (In the LED era, maybe even some red lights could be embedded in it without making them too vulnerable when the tailgate is in its normal position.)

Depends on you definition of luxury. If comfort is you definition then a Yukon XL Denali is pretty luxurious. Much nicer to spend a long road trip in than an X5 or Q7 in my opinion.

There’s nothing inherently less luxurious about a luxurious trim of a GMC than something badged Mercedes or BMW. The badge doesn’t make a vehicle luxurious. The equipment/feel/ride do.

Honest question: Can a GMC be considered a luxury vehicle? One could argue that the Denali is just a luxurious trim of a basic vehicle... I don’t consider the Grand Cherokee Summit a luxury vehicle despite it being very luxurious, it’s just a fancy trimmed Jeep.

I agree. I live in the metro-Detroit area and have NEVER seen one on the road before. I’ll see 4Runners every once in a while in the Ann Arbor area (Toyota has a site in Saline, MI) but never have I seen a J100 or newer Land Cruiser.
