Nope. you want low end torque for most off-roading applications, turbos are only good for high reving applications. off-roading is not that at all.
I hate sabine. she has a terrible voice and spends half the time screeching and giggling like a moron. I mute it when she has screen time.
So just a note on the Dauntless V6. I own a 1970 Jeepster commando, with V6. The Dauntless engine is a wonderful thing, until you rebuild it. Don’t do it. Ever. it never works right after a rebuild. There are forums and clubs that mention this all the time. for a full restoration on this, I would swap to a Buick 350.…
Can I get out of the Greys too plaease? I’ve asked a couple of times but nuthin. Also, I like the westfalias. but probably won’t own one.
So now I’m not allowed to use my truck to tow my RV on a weekend/week trip? I can’t help my friends move, or borrow a trailer to help my dad get a ton of gravel back to his house? I agree, trucks/SUVs that are never used for anything are wasting, but I tow/haul/offroad with my truck 4 times or more a month. since I’m…
Last time I stopped for an emergency vehicle I was rear-ended. Hard. guy hit me while I was at a full stop with my brakes on at 45 mph. he didn’t see the GIANT RED FIRETRUCK RUNNING LIGHTS AND SIRENS SIDEWAYS ACROSS THE ROAD. Now I am extremely cautious about emergency vehicles, as in if no one is behind me I’ll stop.…
yeah, and only getting worse. Not to mention the “lousiana racetrack” isn’t on the horse race track and I’ve had three insurance claims (none my fault, one totalled) in the two years since I’ve moved back to Alb. We need more traffic enforcement. and cops. The Feds (some IA something group) states we are short about…
The Jeepster Commando is my favorite Jeep. For purely sentimental reasons. I learned how to drive in one from my grandpa. who bought it brand new in 1970. I still have it. Only things replaced are the alternator and the water pump. still runs good too.
Was it Galles Chevrolet? Screw those guys. Went in for a test drive on a cruze. dude kept our licenses for 45 minutes. after 15 I started asking people for them and “no one could find him” - We left without even looking at the car.
235 is what my wife and I are paying on a 2017 honda fit, the mid level trim. 220 is more than I would pay for a used Fit. I know they are great cars but dang.
YES THIS!! I hate driving in Alb. Wife and i own three cars. in the last year i’ve had two insurance claims, neither my fault. one I got rear ended on Gibson and totaled my car. Wifes brand new car (owned for a week) was hit in a parking lot. Two in the last year.
I HATE that about my 2006 GMC Sierra. have to spend a couple of minutes fenagling the dang thing. sometimes it never works, and when you have to get 35 gallons at half a gallon a squeeze it gets annoying.
Stuff like this is why I don’t pull people out of the ditch, despite having the equipment and (Mostly) know-how. I’ll end up breaking something and be sued.
The problem with the Cruze is this: its a shitty car. the seats suck, no head room in the back, handles like a $10,000 dollar less car. and I don’t like the whole turn off at the stop lights thing.
My self driving question is for RV towers (like me) who like “glamping” and camping at, say, a lake on the beach. will my “self-driving truck” be able to hook up to my 5th wheel, successfully naviate it out of my yard, drive to where I wanna go, navigate without getting stuck in the sand where there are no roads, park…
My “Barn find” is my grandfathers 1970 Jeepster Commando, with the odd fire dauntless V6. All original parts, with the exception of the alternator and the water pump. It “runs” and I’ve been working on it for two years now. I need more monies to get it where I want it, which is greatly slowing down the restoration…
