Maybe Blaine got him in the jugular (or an artery? me doesn't know anatomy), which — in regular humans — is supposed to bleed much, much more than was shown. So, while it did bleed more than, say, a gunshot to zombie-flesh, it bled significantly less than a similar wound would have on a non-infected human.
