Hey look everyone!!! A bright, shiny object — right over there!!! Yeah, that's right! The one dancing in the cave! Look!

Oh, and don't worry about all that surveillance stuff and that funny PRISM thing. You've got something else to look at RIGHT HERE!!!!

Is it true that Rutgers reached out to the player, asking him to teach a class in animal compassion?

(Also: Gotta love South American club soccer. Any excuse for a fight . . . .)

You are one of the world's most charitable and courageous people. (I know: I taught junior high / high school for a few years myself, and I have endless admiration for folks, like you, who stick with it for more than a few years.)

Photography and fashion? You must teach at a fun school.

Awesome.

You teach? High school English?

Sincere question for you:

What's the deal with McDaniels? His tenure with the Broncos was an unmitigated disaster — at least after his improbable 6-o start. He behaved like a jackass (as you noted); he drafted poorly; he lost games in every conceivable way.

And yet Belichick brings him back. Why? Is it because he's

You prefer Dead Babies; I prefer Red Wheelbarrows.

Potato, potahto; tomato, tomahto.

The world is a funny place.

(By the way, you're right: That is a haunting and powerful poem. Sweep the floors.)

Can't display those pictures in Colorado — that's true, it seems.

But can still (apparently) wave them around in California and other parts of the Ninth Circuit. So Scott just has to travel . . . .

And the law is just a mess. Yet another reason the Court shouldn't have ducked.

This is all really hard to understand.

I mean,

Are you suggesting that there's a difference between the two?

"Our borough is thorough." I love it, though I'm surprised Brooklyn Industries doesn't already have t-shirts mocked up for sale . . . . (Whatever the case, go Nets!)

Mmmm. Just reading your note is making me hungry . . . .

I like most of the places you listed (even Queen, in its hilarious Court Street digs), though I can't claim to have tried them all. Didn't love Colonie either time I've been, but was glad to see something on that stretch of Atlantic. Sahadi's and Floyd's can

Looks like everyone at the county jail took Wilford Brimley Month very seriously this year.

Except the lawyer . . . .

They told me they invented cured meat. Were they lying to me??!?!

(Kidding aside, what's your favorite place in that neck of the woods?)

Not Do or Dine. Colonie.

Do or Dine's were good?

I don't know if this is the *only* way to make a foie gras donut, but the one I tried was essentially a small cream-filled donut, only the cream was a kind of foie gras mousse. It was terrible.

And the sour cherry reduction (or whatever) didn't help.

I wonder where they registered . . . .

You are right. Exactly right.

Tried foie gras donuts at a hipster-ish restaurant in Brooklyn not too long ago. Awful.

"You Can't Hurry Love," Phil Said. "Not The Way You Look Tonight. I'm an Easy Lover, and It's In The Air Tonight . . . "

Terrific speech. Good for Mitch!

But when salutatorians start giving speeches, it can mean only one thing:

Really Long Graduations.

Terrific piece. Thank you.

And was the Champ great with your family too?
