It all depends on the relationship, I suppose. If there's enough green to have a primary car for each of you, then it's easier... If you will be sharing it - full on compromise has to happen. even if it's a his car / her car thing, don't do what I did 8 years ago:

All 3 of them? doubtfull. Latest information on the local news was that numbers are unknown, but that people were in the buildings... (according to my folks who are watching it - I'm several hundred miles away)

The maps are publically available here. Nobody lives in the general vicinity without knowing what's up (and having the noise complaint number on speed dial. "FCLPs at 3 in the AM, my ass!" (Flight Carrier Landing Practice - colloquially known as touch-and-goes)

Pics here. BTW - If I recall correctly the older APZ maps had that region in APZ 1, rather than 2 (I could easily be mis-remembering). the Navy almost closed Oceana during one of the BRAC rounds with one of the reasons being encroachment on potential safety zones. The training site (Fentress airfield in

Guys - People are dead, it sounds like - Invoking the No Joke Rule, here. Stop.

Wow - just got out of my meeting and had a chance to look at the site - The crash is less than 50 yards from my old apartment. Wow. Just. Wow.

I used to live in an apartment complex right off Birneck rd there. The planes would come in low inough to almost read the names under the cockpit. I seem to recall an F-14 going down in the field nearby about 15 years ago, but we worried about planes comiung into the apt all the time. The Navy has been trying to

Young legislators not knowing how to comport themselves appropriately is not unusual. sometimes the "Throw the bums out!" mentality backfires, and what you end up with is worse.

BMW has had biodegradable wiring harnesses for years (This is from my '96). Must be a German thing.

Of course he signed up for Twitter - he had to link his Jalopnik account to something.

God I want a 928, child of the 80s and all that... but I just can't on this one. No. CP

(R): Pickup Truck bigotry - I had family that lived in Coral Gables for years, and the idea that they would want to keep out pickups (and any other accoutrements of the 99%) is not surprising. Although pretty much every house is behind a wall anyway, so if your pickup is in your driveway, odds are nobody can see it.

Wow - that's local to me - about 15 minutes away. Would Not Touch.

Desu has dibs on all the Saturn horror stories...

He went to go have Thanksgiving dinner with Alice...

I have had a motorcyclist kick my car before. I was 16, and not a very experienced driver, and I lane changed into a lane occupied by a Harley rider. Never saw him - had the music on loud enough that I didn't hear him either. I stopped at a red light a ways up and the biker pulled into the turn lane next to me,

Give an iphone to my kids and they sit for hours playing whatever game catches their fancy - just pausing to yell at each other that it's their turn. No smartphone yesterday, though... Yesterday was one of those days that only come along every once in a while. I got to spend several hours with the family cruising

I like the motorcycle / bicycle idea - I have a 6 mile commute, we've been in a drought for 10 years, so not a lot of rain, doesn't get that cold... but I don't see how I can drop my two daughters off at school on the way. They're small, but I don't think they'll both fit in a side car.

Start it in the dark. Finish in the daylight.
