that’s the thing, type-0 has some legitimately very good music, some of the best in the whole series, imo. (i’d link some here, but i’m at work). it’s just they apparently couldn’t be bothered to work some of the good leitmotifs and themes they had into an actually listenable field theme.

There are times in a game where I've put off doing something as long as possible because I hate the music. Not that anyone played it, but Final Fantasy Type-0 has a truly wretched overworld theme that makes traveling through the world feel like it takes 3 times longer, so I eventually found ways to minimize my time…

I noticed that, when Hero showed up in smash, I didnt find any of the music that came with him particularly interesting at all, although i thought that might have been just because their picks were all these super stately marches that dont work for a fighting game.
