Totally not a winner but delightfully ironic! So ironic, in fact, that it only happened thirty minutes ago as I plunk away at the keyboard. Keep this in mind as you read and try not to be too disappointed. Thanksss.

Well, this is way too late to really be noticed by anyone but here’s one story of something that happened to me in my youth. I’m copy/pasting these exactly as I wrote about it on reddit around the same time last year. But I do have a second story that is right up there with this one on “nope nope nope” level of freaky

Yes. My mom is an old school curandera (white magic) and she said that this would keep whatever was trying to come in out. I seriously don’t remember any of this but since my two sister and mom say it happened I believe them. I think I was so traumatized I did not want to remember this.

Amazing :)

The women in my family are a mixed bag of crazy. We see, hear, sense, and dream odd things. So trying to write about one really scary story is very hard because every house I’ve lived in was either haunted, or became haunted due to the presence of my mother and I. This story is 100% true- hand to bible-.

Can I have another story or two? I have never lived anywhere haunted, but I had a strange, vivid dream once. I am gay, hence my username, and have ties to Germany due to my mom having taught German. When I was a kid, I would go on exchange trips with her and the students, and once, we went to Dachau.

When I was in university, my walk home took me through a not-so-great neighborhood, often after a late night studying at the library.

When I was a baby, my great-aunt passed away, and my parents were staying in her home the night before the funeral. Apparently I woke in the middle of the night and was fussing (I was a very colicky baby, with severe ear infections. I was in pain for a large part of my babyhood, my parents didn’t get much sleep

I’ve never experienced anything close to supernatural my entire life. I’ve gone to plenty of houses that were supposedly haunted, a couple of castles, a bunch of cemeteries, and never caught a peep of anything unusual going on besides some funky mold. I’ve had friends swear that they would take me to places that were

I wonder if it was even your mom. I had a similar experience when I was in kindergarten and it’s never left my mind. My mom worked crazy shifts when I was little and we lived with my grandma, my dad and my sister. Sometimes my mom or grandma would get me up and ready for school depending on who was available.

A few bits of background are necessary for my story, so please forgive the long preface. I promise there’s not a “and I said to the cabbie, yo homes, smell ya later” at the end.

I have a very gentle ghost story. I volunteer at the Merchant’s House Museum in the East Village. It’s known as the most haunted house in NYC and weird things happen there all the time. I truly adore the other volunteers and the museum itself—it’s the city’s only original brownstone and has all of the contents of the

YAY, I’m so excited! Anyways, I don’t know if this is scary but it creeped me out.

It’s the moooost wonderful time of the year! Seriously, I live for this thread. My experience is not nearly as spooky as others’, but here goes anyway:
