I don’t really understand your posture.
Vote for better candidates? Like who? Who have the democrats presented to us that has anything important or useful to say? Sanders came close, but he got absolutely wrecked by the party when they got scared.
I almost entirely agree with all of that. My only quibbles relate to the idea that taxes pay for things, but I pretty far from the consensus on this.
Totally, but so, too, are many democratic voters addled by ignorance. We just don’t care because they vote the “correct” way.
Right. There are no candidates who are representing my interests.
It is the party that exploits their desperation. It’s the party that screens nominees. It’s the party that pukes up the platform of fear and loathing.
I think “their own best interest” is probably not what you believe or want it to be. Not all interests are financial. Not all interests are even material.
There are plenty of perfectly smart people voting for republicans. The idea that smart people vote like you and idiots vote like “them” is a sick and self-defeating claim.
Exactly. Everyone can see when they are demographically represented. Every quote about “a black woman on the Supreme Court” undermined the inestimably qualified KBJ by making it sound like the only reason she was even considered was because she’s black.
Harris is a terrible candidate. Her primary campaign tanked early in the last cycle, and her public appearances as VP have been wholly underwhelming and uninspiring. Republicans have nothing to fear from a Harris campaign, not that that will stop them from pulling out every hate baton they’ve got.
Kastin Gerbler looks like the most boring couple of people in the universe. Aggressively boring. Like, “Stop, pleeeeease, I’m really bored already.”
The details in these posts seem to be disappearing!
Fava bean puree is up there with parsnip soup as a low-key entrant in the “what unsuspecting dish do chefs absolutely love?” category.
“Make it all grey”
“That’s not all who’s talking either. Mary Clayton, Lester’s ex-wife who was married to him for 14 years, told The New York Times seeing her ex-husbands face in the news.”
2 years of campaigning and 8 years of presidenting can’t have been “great” for either of them, right?
I just think favas are too subtle to be paired with spinach.
Defend the crown! Vengeance must be sought if the sweet monarch’s dignity and honor are to be preserved!
Tarragon is perfect in most egg concoctions. Also delicious with favas. I think the spinach, despite its commonplace usage in quiches, is really the lame part. I can definitely see a fava bean and tarragon quiche being delicious. On the other hand, it would probably be better to just serve the favas pureed with some…
