I think the best comparison of Twitch streaming (and other YouTube-esque jobs) is to busking on a street corner. It is definitely work, and it can potentially be a living, but that’s rare. It’s such a chaotic income stream that most people should be strongly discouraged from using it as their sole source of funds.
