I'm only a minute into this episode, and I'm sure the following 21-ish minutes are great, but I just can't accept that Jake didn't go visit Gina in the hospital, or anything. (He asks her "What was it like getting hit by a bus?" in the cold open.) Jake is many things, but I know he's not the kind of guy who doesn't

Holy crap.

This episode had a good example of why some of us have issues with Jake’s characterization lately. He says (seriously) “big scaly dragon boobs” and (sarcastically) “there’s already enough girls here, we don’t need a third” within like two minutes of each other. Those statements don’t directly contradict each other,

Ack. When I said "steal" I was actually attempting to get at "copy" (I'm good with words!) but your theory (actual theft) is intriguing! I'm definitely into it.

I think they were trying to steal the guy's notes that he took with the app that day in class. (Or else I made that up to make the storyline make sense? Now I'm not sure.)

A little part of me was expecting Suzy Reynolds to show up in the tag.

I mean, there were four covers (and one original) of classic songs from the very early days of the show. That's a move they've pulled a bunch of times, but it always means something. I don't like what it implies this time…

About that first kiss (which is the only thing I have coherent thoughts about yet)…

Re: Amelia She's leaving for three episodes while Caterina's on maternity leave. My guess is that she's in LA.

I'm having serious trouble following Jimmy's storyline in the second episode. His proposal wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision; it was something he'd committed to before the episode even started. And yet while he's carrying out his grand gesture, he goes on a huge rant against family, even though he knows he's about

Aren't they doing an Archie series too? That's a different style of comic, sure, but it counts.

I'm stuck in full "processing Greg's departure" mode, so I'll have to revisit this episode (and review) in a few days for the rest of it. Greg's character has grown on me so much. And that's, of course, due in large part to Santino Fontana, who has been consistently excellent.

Re: Patrick Dempsey- no, there was the scene of Amelia listening to the voicemail Derek left Meredith while on the ferry(boat.)

I did not know Marie Callender's was anything other than frozen chicken pot pie until I read this comment. Now the cake emojis make so much more sense!

Overall, I loved this. Amy and Rosa were utterly perfect. It felt a little rushed at the end, but I suppose as long as they nailed the most important thing (Gina's victory moment,) that's basically sticking the landing.

Totally agree with you about Laurel's pregnancy, but I've re-watched the beginning and end scenes a few times now, and I don't think there's any indication that she was beaten. The color on her face is soot/ash/smoke, and they mentioned smoke inhalation, but not any other medical issues. I'm not saying that's the only

The reveal (Laurel's, or anyone's) is necessarily always going to be pretty hollow.
