In my childhood, this was something my dad would play somewhat often on an 8 track. I can still remember the ripples the label on the cassette had. That’s kind of weirdly specific memory, but there it is.
Now that’s a headline, ain’t it.
I wish I would have caught this on the original air date — I would have had time. I would likely have been enjoying my post-school snack of microwaved cheese and crackers. Is Donahue even still alive?
An important question.
The opening Act: Nilüfer Yanya
Third and last volume here. This covers the “college years,” or basically approximately 1-3 years after everything in the first two posts. There were no bands to speak of, yet for recording it was somewhat of a prolific period.
This is a very good promo.
This is oversharing of stuff from the other band. Same time period. A bit more accomplished and polished by comparison. Also played in a living room, not a basement. Although this band once dropped in and jammed in the basement of the other band. That was an awkward afternoon.
Technically the full 2014 KEXP performance, and technically something I think I posted already, but way back in 2014 perhaps and on the ODeck. Still sounding good.
