...or they will wear them under their nose or on their chins.  N95s only work if you are wearing them properly.

Not that I want to be the guy making excuses for Trump, but at least the prior administration had the fact that they weren’t two years into the pandemic on their side. They were having to figure things out as they went along. This administration has quite a bit of knowledge to build off of (including the past

That’s exactly why I am saying this isn’t going to make a damn difference.  However, the current administration is going to chalk it up as a win, since Omicron will have ran through the country by the time these masks and testing kits get to people.  Then, they will stand before a podium and say, “See, it worked!”,

Tbh, people who wear a mask under their nose infuriate me more than people not wearing one at all.

Agreed.

How dare you bring logic into this debacle!

The majority of people I see wearing masks now aren’t “decently” wearing them, if they are wearing one at all. They’ve got their nose out, they pull them down to talk, or they just leave them on their chin. An N95 isn’t going to change the way they wear them or encourage those that aren’t wearing them to put one on.

Must’ve needed several scenes of Batman’s skin sparkling like diamonds in the sun.

N95s only work when worn correctly, so all of the current cloth mask wearing chin diaper people will still be wearing these incorrectly, as well. This isn’t going to make a difference. We have vaccines and boosters and virtually everyone has had Omicron or knows of someone who has. At this point, I could give a shit

Preach!

Just getting around to this, but I just had to say this is the most measured, thoughtful comment that I have ever seen on this platform.  Nicely done.

I agree that they are the only safeguard. Unfortunately, some of those that chose profit over safety and efficacy were former FDA employees that took jobs with pharmaceutical companies after overseeing approval of drugs. The majority of their human drugs regulatory budget is now funded by “industry user fees” (i.e. -

Bare shelves and much higher prices here in VA.

After learning of their role in the opioid epidemic, the FDA lost all credibility with me.

Kudos to you for writing content like this that criticizes the current administration and the CDC for their lack of efforts in combating the virus. That doesn’t happen a lot around here.

He’s had a year to fix it.  That is my point.  Once you get a year into your presidency, I don’t want to hear about what the last guy did.

the IRS is still reeling with budget cuts implemented under the Trump administration
