I disagree. I think the real problem is that white guys don’t believe monitors are capable of “merit” and ignore their own advantages. It’s not that minorities are always starting behind. It’s that they are seen as being permanently behind.

Disagree. Walt got everything he wanted at the end of the series. He was the hero. There was no real punishment. He gets revenge on the scientist couple. He gets money to his family. He saves Jessie. He dies without getting caught. The whole finale reads more like a fever dream. Mad Men comes off the same way.
