This was another one of those shows that absolutely dared me to watch it and I folded before the first episode ended. First it was the naked woman in a box trope and then it was boring as shit. Good fucking god. How much of this generic crap can TV make?

Make Dr. Strange an Asian guy. Or gal. Problem solved.

Holy fucking shit! How did you do it? I and about 30 other people reported that image over an over and got your first response. But it really is gone now. Congrats!

Except there’s that blanketed term “golden age”. Golden age for who? You can't say that's not positively skewed.

Well, anyone who can quote a movie must be right

Not exploration. Colonization. Vasco Da Gama was not Captain Kirk. Don't bring that wrongly romanticized bit of history back, please.

You can then make the point that she wrote too many male supporting and historical characters in Harry Potter. You could also say she should have made a new character or picked a female character from Potter to follow up with. Her hands are hardly tied. No author’s hands are tied when it comes to writing fiction.

It was great! Thanks!

Oh please, calling what I said “complaining” is as ad hominem as it gets. Sorry I figured you out so soon. I’m sure you wanted this faux conversation to go on for days.

The fact that you think a female lead is gender domination is all I need to know about how to converse with you. I’m not being emotional sweetie. I’m just sizing you up before wasting my time. Good try, though.

I’m reading it to my kid. She likes it. I think it’s pretty uninteresting stuff. I do hate that I have to edit bits because it’s so tone deaf at times.

The Harry Potter universe is strewn with internalized misogyny with a touch of racism, from the entirety of Cho Chang to a number of damselled women to fat equaling moral fiber to most of Harry’s heroes being men to Hermione getting her teeth fixed. Rowling talks a lot about equality - like Dumbledor being gay and

First of all, Harrison Bergeron is an embarassing objectivist style screed, so one point against you already. Second, you have the same problem as someone else in this thread, namely that an equal amount of women is seen as “dominant”. That’s preposterous. Get a grip.

I love it when people who have nothing left to add cry foul.

Your ability to spot a number of films that you could count with two hands and have fingers left over and call it “a lot” is akin to the phenomenon of people thinking a woman who speaks 30% of the time is taking up the entirety of the conversation. People also percieveg 30% women in a crowd scene as 50/50.

Your question would be valid if Harry Potter was a girl and I was complaining about this movie being about a guy. But this is her second property and it’s still about a man. It’s a shame when a powerful woman author outright refuses to create a main character little girls can identify with. Especially since there is a

The summary of your nonsense rationalization is longer than the nonsense rationalization.

Did you mean “exclusively featuring women”?

By “two” you mean “every”. First rule of feminism in entertainment is representation. She couldn't even manage 50/50.
